The most certain, and welcomed, sign of spring in my neighborhood: 1 day until Dairy Queen reopens after its wintertime hibernation.
The sun is shining. The chickadees are flitting about in the backyard. The snow is melting, although not so much the ice. But there is time, and reason to smile.
We can all meet again out front of the DQ tomorrow, and catch up after winter’s long indoor run. Even if it snows another foot tonight, we can still meet at the DQ tomorrow.
Because spring is now, officially, on the way in Missoula.
