Drum roll, please: Today, the Missoulian and Missoulian.com launch a new blog about … ourselves!
MissoulaEditor.com is our invitation to readers to join in the conversation about our newspaper, our Web site and our community. Hosted by editor Sherry Devlin, the blog will bring readers news of upcoming coverage, explain and answer questions about ongoing coverage, highlight our best work, and discuss the evolution and future of journalism.
From time to time, as the conversation and questions dictate, other editors will log on to provide their perspectives as well. But that’s up to you, our faithful and feisty readers. What have you always wondered about the Missoulian? What stories have we covered this past week that you particularly enjoyed? That made you mad? That you want to read more about in the future? This is our virtual listening post.
So let the conversation begin! I look forward to meeting and talking with you all in the days ahead.
Sherry Devlin
What a terrific idea!!!
I’d sent you an email before regarding this with no reply: what’s the chance of doing an update story on Mary Dague, the EOD technician from Superior (Alberton?)?

Well, Sherry, since you asked …
Two quick comments:
First, either lose the Page 2 Sunday police report or put the map back with it. Very few people are going to sift through all this information unless it graphically correlates to their neighborhood.
Second, lose Mallard Fillmore. This is a shallow, mean-spirited, Glenn Beck of a strip. I wouldn’t be opposed to a thoughtful, conservative cartoon strip (if indeed one exists) but Mallard Fillmore is just so nasty and predictable (Obama, public school teachers and the “left-wing” media being Tinsley’s main targets).
Some folks say that Mallard Fillmore is the foil to Doonesbury. That’s like comparing a Renoir to a black velvet Elvis. At least Doonesbury broaches other subjects: returning Iraq war veterans, college-age relationships, Hollywood agents, Washington lobbyists, to name just a few.
Anyway, thanks for this forum.
